Disciple Bible Studies
Disciple Bible studies were developed and designed for training Christian disciples. In Matthew 28:19, Christ clearly gives directions for all believers in his Great Commission. We are to “go therefore and make disciples of all nations.” To do this, we must be in the Word. There are five different Disciple Bible studies, all of which help us to follow Christ’s commission as we learn to walk in His Word. Each study requires daily reading in the Word as well as a weekly 2½ hour group session. The only other requirements are a Bible and a time commitment to read daily and to attend weekly session. Disciple Bible Studies start in September of every year.
Disciple I: Become Disciples Through Bible Study.
Disciple I covers about 80% of the Bible and is designed for everyone who hungers and thirsts for God's Word. It picks us up wherever we are in our walk with Christ: first time Bible study or experienced Bible scholar. The study moves through the biblical story form Creation to the New Jerusalem. There are no prerequisites for this overview of the Bible. Disciple I cover 34 weeks.
Disciple II: Into The Word Into The World.
Disciple II has been added to nourish Christians who hunger and thirst for God's will in their lives. It covers Genesis, Exodus, Luke and Acts in greater depth than was covered in Disciple I by teaching basic study skills and by linking Bible study to witness and service in the world. The prerequisite is Disciple I. Disciple II covers 32 weeks.
Disciple III: Remember Who You Are.
Disciple III covers the prophets and the letters of Paul and focuses on remembrance, identity, repentance and the community of God’s people. Disciple III sets the Prophets and Paul’s writings
Disciple IV: Under The Tree Of Life
Disciple IV covers the Writings (Old Testament books not in the torah or the Prophets), the Gospel of John, and Revelation. Disciple IV is the final study in the four-phase Disciple Bible study. It addresses community and individual life and appeals to the senses and emotions through words, images, dance, and music. It taps into the power of Psalms and shows the distinctive character of the Gospel of John. There are only 32 sessions for this study.
Disciple V: Jesus In The Gospels
Jesus in the Gospels focuses on the portraits of Jesus found in the four Gospels- Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. In this study we see Jesus the way each Gospel writer presented Him through the events and teachings they chose to emphasize. Jesus in the Gospels may be taken after the completion of the four Disciple studies. It follows the same format as Disciple with the video presentation and small group interaction. There are only 30 sessions for this study.
