FAQ
When is the church open? The church office is open from 8:30 am until 4:30 pm Monday – Thursday and Friday 8:30 am – 3:00 pm, except for holidays during which special office hours will be announced. The building is accessible at night and weekends for scheduled meetings, worship and church-wide functions.
When May I Call a Staff Person? Telephones are answered by the receptionist or secretary during office hours. After office hours, an automated answering system will allow you to leave voice messages for any staff person day or night.
How does the church family learn about our new baby, hospitalization or death in our family?
Many times we will be aware of your life situation. However, please call the church office at 281-497-4491 so that we may alert the ministerial staff that will offer prayer and support as appropriate. In addition to this, when you call, your joy or prayer concern will be sent out in an email to our eprayer team for additional prayers. Also, your information will be listed in the worship guide on the following Sunday.
How do I schedule a baptism? Please call the church secretary at 281-497-4491 and she will assist you. All baptisms are scheduled during one of our regular worship services, although not usually on Communion Sundays which are the first Sunday of every month.
How do I schedule a wedding? Weddings are scheduled through our Wedding Coordinator, Sharon Sibert. Please call the church office at 281-497-4491 for information to contact Sharon.
How do I schedule a room or meeting at the church? Contact the church secretary at 281-497-4491 and complete a Room Reservation Form. This form will ask for all pertinent information for scheduling. The secretary will also check to make sure no other meetings are already scheduled at the same time and room. Once the form is filled and returned, an approval may be needed from the Senior Pastor before the meeting can be held.
How do I know what my pledge balance is? What if I have questions about my gifts to the church? Call the church Financial Secretary at 281-497-4491 and she will be happy to assist you. You will also receive contributions statements each quarter through the mail.
What are the ways I can give to the church? Pledges, regular offerings, automatic bank draft, gifts of stock, gifts in honor or memory of someone, designated gifts, endowment funds and scholarships. Please call the Financial Secretary, for additional information.
When is childcare available? It is available during all worship services for children birth to two years old and when requested in advance for meetings or other events. To request childcare, call the church office at 281-497-4491 for additional information.
Whom do I call when I move or change other personal information? Please call the church office at 281-497-4491 to update your information.
If I have an article or picture to submit to our church newsletter, how do I do that? All articles should be submitted no later than the 20th of each month. Except for the November or December newsletters, which because of the holidays, need to submitted no later than the 15th of the month.
Whom should I call if I want to get involved or need help finding my place at Mission Bend UMC? A good place to start is with Connie Fowler, Christian Education Director, through the church office.
