HOVERING PRAYER
The Holy Spirit wants to release His creative powers through us. He wants us to pray for Him to hover over (stay with) lifeless situations, releasing His life into them. He is the power source as written in Acts 1:8 wherein Jesus said “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you.”
He wants to go forth and hover over and around individuals, (stay with them) releasing His awesome power to convict, break bondages, bring revelation, heal them and draw them to Himself in order to cause new creation in them, as He did in Acts 10:38 “…how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and power, and how He want around doing good and healing all who were under the power of the devil, because God was with Him.”
Our prayers can and do cause the Holy Spirit to move into situations and hover over them, where He then releases His power to bring life, as recorded in Luke 4:18-19, in which Jesus said “The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because He has anointed me to preach good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to release the oppressed, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” The Spirit of the Lord was hovering over Jesus.
Let us then, when we pray, ask the Holy Spirit to hover over those for whom we are praying until the mission is accomplished. “Holy Spirit, hover over ________ until (they are healed, or they are saved, or they are given new spiritual life and/or come into closer relationship with our Lord God. )” We will still pray “in the name of Jesus.” This is one more weapon in our prayer warrior’s arsenal against evil.
