EDUCATION - MISSION BEND CHRISTIAN PROGRAMS

Lord God, I exalt You and thank You for the many blessings You have so graciously given to the Mission Bend United Methodist Church and our Christian Education programs. Thank You for each Sunday School teacher, each Bible study leader, and each small group leader. Thank You for each student, each participant and each family. Heavenly Father, I pray that You:

- Instill in each congregation member a deep hunger for Your Word. It is written in Romans 10:17: "...Faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the Word of Christ."

- Help us select curriculum that is spirit-filled and deeply meaningful. Psalm 25:5 says "Guide me in Your truth, and teach me."

- Fill each teacher and leader to overflowing with excitement for what God is doing and will be doing in their classrooms. May the sparks from our fire ignite dry hearts. Paul told the Corinthian church to worship in such a clear way that if an unbeliever entered, “…he would... worship God, declaring that God is indeed among you.” 1 Corinthians 14:25b

- Will provide an abundance of resources, physical space and time. Ephesians 5:16 says

“…making the most of every opportunity…"

- Send the Holy Spirit to flow freely with and through all the Christian Education participants, teachers, leaders, students and families. Ephesians 5:18b says "…be filled with the Spirit."

- Will help us ensure that Sunday mornings and Bible study times be dedicated, sacred times for You, and not be interrupted or obstructed from full participation. Ephesians 5:17 of the KJV says "If you wish to avoid being foolish and desire to understand the Lord's will, you will redeem the time." and Exodus 20:8, one of the 10 commandments, says "Remember the Sabbath day by keeping it holy."

- Will transform lives anywhere Your Word is opened and shared. Psalm 107:2 says

"Let the redeemed of the Lord say this."

- Help families and community be strengthened and encouraged to go into the living waters of learning. Learn it. Live it. Share it. John 6:35 says "…He who believes in Me will never be thirsty."

- See that all teaching reinforces the relevance and urgency of the Holy Bible to our lives. Deuteronomy 6:5-9 says “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates.”

- Help us remember that "as the Sunday School goes, so goes the church." 2 Chronicles 1:10 says "Give me wisdom and knowledge, that I may lead this people." Help us nourish each one, that they may reach full potential in You and become leaders in Your will and Your time.

- Help us further the kingdom of God in our world at this time. According to Philemon 6, "I pray

that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every

good thing we have in Christ."
